It's hard to believe that we were ever terrified of the Russians after seeing these videos. While the Sex Pistols were making waves with Anarchy in the UK, the kids in the USSR were being treated to this biting musical commentary on societal ills:
And clearly, after the US hockey team proved to the Soviet machine that American culture was the wave of the future, Moscow immediately tried to incorporate some of our way of life into theirs and clearly surpassed us quickly. I believe we're seeing in this clip Russia's answer to Flashdance followed by the precursors to Project Runway and the i-Pod.
